New Orleans Events
Carnival (Mardi Gras)
The annual Carnival celebration attracts visitors from around the world and is New Orlean’s biggest event of the year. Lavish balls, and parades with floats and costumed performers take place on the ten days before the final day, Mardi Gras- also known as Fat Tuesday. This event is held in February or March, depending on when Ash Wednesday falls.
New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (Jazz Fest)
This popular 10-day festival is held the last weekend of April through the first weekend of May and features more than 4,000 jazz musicians form around the country. Many are big-name performers.
