Portland EntertainmentPortland is a diverse city with a progressive attitude and thriving cultural arts scene with much to see and do inside the city limits. When you are ready for breathtaking scenery, a half hour east of the city is the majestic Multnomah Falls and a little farther east is the rugged Columbia Gorge.Downtown The Oregon Zoo is home to animals from around the world and is noted for breeding endangered animals. Several blocks south on Broadway is the Portland Art Museum, the Northwest’s oldest museum which hosts touring exhibitions and several permanent collections, featuring American, Native American, European, Asian, and contemporary art. A beautiful new addition to Portland’s China Town is the Classical Chinese Garden, the largest Suzhou-style garden outside of China. It is restored and furnished with period pieces. The Rose Quarter is home to the NBA Trail Blazers, the WNBA Portland Fire, and the WHL Winter Hawks. Oaks Amusement Park and Roller Skating Rink, the longest-running amusement park in the United States, has been entertaining Portlanders since 1905. OMSI is fun for kids of all ages. Spend time checking out the exhibits, many of which are hands-on, watching the colorful Laser Light Show set to music from classical to pop, or touring the U.S.S. Concerts are presented in the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and includes classical, Pops, and a Family and Kids Concert series.
