Portland EventsThe Rose Festival A favorite event in Portland, the City of Roses, is the annual Rose Festival, held in June. The highlight of the 25 days of events and festivities is the Grand Floral Parade. The parade is second in size only to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. Other events include the Rose Festival Airshow, one of the nation’s best. The U.S. Thunderbirds have appeared in past shows. Fleet Week, features various cutters, destroyers, and frigates of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Portland's Saturday Market A favorite of many Portlanders is the Portland Saturday Market, the nation’s largest open-air crafts market.
